The Good Shepherd

Jesus the Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, shepherding us out of the suffering and misery which threaten the world. My homily for this weekend is posted here.

thank you so much for your great homily on "Jesus, the Good Shepherd," Fr. C! sorry for my delay in responding to it. the past weekend was busier than usual as always, your homily was so inspiring! my reflection during the week was not focused too much on any of the specific readings, but more on Jesus being our Good Shepherd and how merciful and loving He IS. it's interesting how, after we celebrate Jesus' Resurrection, comes Divine Mercy Sunday; this Sunday of Jesus, the Good Shepherd; and then soon the Sacred Heart of Jesus. it all connects to His Passion & why He died for us. in the May NAS (nocturnal adoration society) letter, it talks about how generous the Heart of Jesus is and there are three means by which we receive Jesus' riches. i'd like to share them: 1.) "He for this purpose made himself poor, as the Apostle says, that he might make us rich": "He became poor for your sakes, that through His poverty you might be rich." (2 Cor. Viii. 9) 2.) "For this purpose also he chose to remain with us in the most Holy Sacrament, where he remains constantly with his hands full of graces, as was seen by Fr. Balthazar Alvarez, to dispense them to those who come to visit him." 3.) "For this reason also he gives himself wholly to us in Holy Communion, giving us to understand from this that he cannot refuse us any good gifts, since he even gives himself entirely to us": "How hath He not also, with Him, given us all thngs?" (Rom. viii, 32) PEACE! ~tara t~
