St. John Vianney

I have been acquainted with John Vianney for a long time. The permanent deacon who instructed me for baptism had a tremendous devotion to him, and spoke of him often. (I didn't go through the RCIA; I was born out of order like St. Paul)

Today I was thinking about St. John and I realized for the first time that he would have been a little kid when the French Revolution started. All his little hagiographies talk about his obstacles and troubles in studying for the priesthood, and no wonder.
